We structured our projects in 6 different stages:
- Obtain information on processes and analyze customer needs.
- Prepare the work plan and the documentation. We are using an Open Source tool to document our projects (OpenWiki). This tool allows us to create interactive documentation processes with our clients and within our organization.
- Designate the Project Leader, and establish the workgroup that will carry out the job.
- Development and deliver the prototypes and beta versions. Adjust modules and functionality with the client.
- Deployment and users training. Great percentage of our deployments and trainings are being done remotely with Terminal Server or VNC Server.
- Maintenance and support. With Mantis, an open source tool to track bugs, client and internal requirements, we can estimate response times, costs and have more control over projects maintenance. This helped us to increase customer satisfaction.
